February 13th 2020, Hyderabad: The 2020 edition of Chrysalis, the annual cultural fest of Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad, concluded on a grand note on Friday, February 7th, 2020. This one-day cultural extravaganza under the theme ‘Udbhav – Emerging Stronger’ kick-started on the same day, with various competitions and programs lined up for participants and audience from across the city.
Chrysalis 2020 witnessed academic events like Dhana Dhana Dhan, Kriya Vikraya, Netratva, and Karyaneeti, and cultural events such as Nrityalaya, Aalapana, Navyatanga, and Alankarana among many others. The major attractions of the fest were events like Bollywood Trivia, Sherlock Holmes, Sau ka Savaal, Yuva Saadhak, and Paricharcha. To take the celebrations up a notch, the award-winning RJ and speaker, Chaitu, hosted a session filled with energy, joy, and merriment for the students and participants. The evening of the fest was taken over by the city’s most popular and sought-after musical band, Akshar, that left no stone unturned to light up the campus with their music and vibe overall.
In an event of the same kind, VJIM held ‘Ignitron’ – a business plan competition and opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs of the city. This one-day academic initiative was conducted on Thursday, February 6th, 2020, and had attained backing of Data Wise consultants. Ignitron witnessed great participation from students of different colleges, including, National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), St. Joseph’s College, Mahindra College, and Loyola College, who presented plans on subjects like “problem-solving in the construction industry with blockchain technology”, “smart helmet for safe rides”, and “ozone masks” to name a few. The event was inaugurated and judged by Mr. Srinivas Prasad – Deloitte, Mr. Srinivas Kodali – Entrepreneur, and Mr. S. Sarma – Independent Management Consultant.
On the other hand, the chief guests for Chrysalis included Ms. Likitha – Kuchipudi & Kathak Artist and Ms. Manasa Varanasi – FBB Colors Femina Miss India 2019 Finalists. This annual fest was attended and treasured by students from the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), Fortune School of Business (FSB), The Indian Institute of Management and Commerce (IIMC), and Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Durga Prasad, Director, Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), said, “Chrysalis as well as Ignitron act as platforms for college students to come together and showcase their creativity. These competitions and cultural fests give the students a break from their academic routine to participate and compete in different activities in a healthy way. Looking at the response, we are hopeful that we’ll get a chance to host many such editions of these events.”
The evenings following the events concluded with trophy and certificate distribution to the winners and an address of appreciation for all the attendees including students, faculty members, staff, and guests.
