LRC

VJIM-LRC, popularly known as Learning Resource Centre (LRC), is a knowledge hub among its fraternity. The VJIM – LRC is fully automated with a modern learning resource center that provides current, accurate, and authoritative information from print to electronic resources using state-of-the-art technology.

LRC Learning Resources

Books:

VJIM – LRC proactively acquires all the books and other resources needed by the stakeholders in the areas of Management, Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, Operations, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Logistic & Supply Chain Management Etc.  and holds a good collection of world-renowned publishers like Harvard Business Publishing, Pfeiffer training manuals, The Economist Collections Training Games, Dummies, Quick Win, Express Exec.Com Series TED Talks. The collection includes philosophy, Biographies of Entrepreneurs, non-fiction, children’s books etc. 

Databases:

VJIM – LRC subscribes to some of the best online databases; it provides access to over five databases like ProQuest One Business, Emerald Management Collection, Euromonitor, CAPTILINE, and Sage to cater to the varied information needs of all the stakeholders. All these resources are made available through the remote access facility. Students can use these resources within and outside the campus with individual login details to avoid copyright violations.

Institutional Repository on DSpace:

The main objective of the Institutional Repository of Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management is to create and develop an archive of the Institutes own documents for sustainable use. In order to build the Repository (named as IR@VJIM), the DSpace software 6.3 version has been used. The DSpace is maintained on the server. All Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management users have access to the Institutional Repository through username and password.

The DSpace community has been categorized into four Faculty Research Publications, Accessible Library and a separate section for Archives. The Library is further subdivided into its own collection of Syllabi, Question Papers, SIP reports, etc. The Accessible Library has a collection of audio books and PDF documents. The Archives contain Rare Documents, Convocation Addresses and Videos & photos, Occasional Papers, and Periodical repositories etc.

E-Books:

VJIM-LRC has subscribed to access 25000+ e-books from ProQuest Central covering all the areas of Management and its allied subjects. The LRC also have a good range of e-textbooks from Pearson education, Cengage and SAGE Publishers.  

Journals & Magazines: 

VJIM-LRC Subscribes to various National & International Journals and Magazines like HBR, MIT Sloan, AMA Collection, Academy of Management Journals, Journal of Finance, Corporate Finance, etc. The VJIM-LRC subscribes to Business Newspapers like Economic Times, MINT, BS, WSJ etc. The VJIM-LRC is fully automated, providing the students with all the necessary information using the Internet and Intranet.

It also offers services such as Circulation Services, Reference Services, Research support, Services, Databases Training Support, User Guidance Service, Photocopy Service, Bibliographic Service, Document Delivery Service, Course Support, Online Catalogue Service, Selective Dissemination Service through and Current Awareness Service by providing new arrivals of books, TOC Service, and newly Published Reports, etc.

Membership and Privileges

For Students: After completing the admission process, the students visit the library and collect the Library membership form, and the ID will be allocated. The Institute ID Card is also an Library card. The Roll No. of the student is considered the student’s ID.

The Student ID card should be presented at the time of issue.

The Users should get the documents duly issued at the Circulation Counter.

The papers should be collected in person.

The latest issues of the journals will not be published.

Case Studies will not be published.

Reference resources will not be issued.

Videos will not be given out of LRC. The same can be viewed within the LRC.

The identity of the person who has borrowed a particular resource will not be revealed to the

other users.

Reservation

Resources can be reserved only when they are on loan. Reservations for the available

resources will not be accepted.

The availability of the reserved item would be informed through e-mail.

The mysterious help should be collected from LRC within 24 hours after intimation.

Otherwise the reservation stands cancelled.

Return

❖ Books should be returned within the due date mentioned on the Due Date Slip.
Reminders
❖ Reminders would be sent to the Users Daily.
Renewal
❖ Books can be renewed twice for 15 days if there is no reservation against a particular item.
❖ Journals can be renewed once for three days.
❖ AV Resources can be renewed once for seven days without reservation against the particular
article.
Fine Schedule
❖ A fine of Rs. 50/- per resource/day would be charged for overdue AV Resources.
❖ A fine of Rs. 10/- per resource/day would be charged for Books and other outstanding items.
❖ The fine details of each user would be submitted to the Accounts Dept. on a quarterly basis,
who would take further action.

Lost/Damaged Resources
❖ The Users should report to VJIM-LRC if they lose or damage a particular resource and replace it.
Information Service
❖ Exceptional Service would be provided to the Students for retrieval of information from the
Electronic Resources are available with VJIM-LRC.

COVID-19 INITIATIVES

New Normal Services offered by VJIM LRC during COVID-19 Lockdown

At COVID-19 Pandemic Teaching and learning, measures continued online, which was the only option left out for the academic institutions to connect to the student’s community. To reawaken their radicles and to make them aware of the choice to grow even in times of crisis, VJIM LRC, following the emerging trends, adopted the latest innovative technologies to provide library services. This includes the MHRD Government of India’s unlimited open educational resources, research on Covid-19, free e-books from the world’s best publishers with high impact factors resources were made accessible easily. The VJIM LRC has compiled all these resources on this page and made it available to access these resources remotely.
