Global Immersion Program: A Journey of Learning, Culture, and Innovation in Thailand

As part of the prestigious Global Immersion Program, students from Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM) embarked on a transformative journey to Thailand, where they had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in both Thai culture and cutting-edge business practices. This program, held at the renowned Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, provided students with a dynamic blend of academic, cultural, and professional experiences. The program began with an enriching Orientation Visit to the Facilities at AIT, where students were introduced to the essence of Thai culture, traditions, and community. This informative session set the tone for the entire program, allowing students to appreciate Thailand’s cultural richness, learn about its customs, and connect with the local community.

Students then engaged in a deep dive into Entrepreneurship through the SDG Innovation Project Discussion Group, led by Dr. Arlene Gonzales. The discussions focused on innovation-driven enterprises and the impact of entrepreneurship in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Further exploring the entrepreneurship ecosystem, Dr. Wilai Phungphol highlighted key innovation trends and opportunities within Thailand’s burgeoning start-up scene.

A company visit to Ichitan, a major player in Thailand’s beverage industry, provided valuable industry insights. Students explored the operational dynamics of a leading Thai company and witnessed firsthand how innovation drives business success in the Thai market.

The vibrant city of Bangkok became a classroom for students as they visited landmarks such as Central World, Thailand’s premier shopping and entertainment destination. The day also included an engaging Design Thinking workshop, led by Mr. Pasad Nagaraj, which empowered students to explore creative solutions and innovate technology in business.

The program emphasized the integration of technology for sustainable business growth. Asst. Prof. Thareethip Laowirojanakul, Ph.D., conducted a session on “Building Business Models Powered by Technology for Sustainable Growth”, focusing on how businesses can utilize technology to build effective, long-lasting business strategies.

Students participated in an in-depth workshop on Business GIS with Prof. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, expanding their understanding of geographic information systems and their applications in business. The session on AI in MS Office, led by Mr. Pasad Nagaraj, introduced students to the practical applications of AI in business tools, enhancing productivity and decision-making processes.

In a session on Consumer Behavior Analysis, led by Mr. Sascha Funk, students learned to analyze Thai consumer preferences and behaviors. They explored key factors influencing purchasing decisions and the cultural nuances of Thai consumers. The session also touched upon the importance of data analytics and AI in understanding and predicting consumer behavior. Furthermore, students engaged in insightful discussions about AI Business Data Analytics and its role in driving Thailand’s economic growth and global competitiveness.

Throughout the program, students worked on group projects, applying their learnings from the sessions to real-world business scenarios. The collaborative environment fostered creativity, innovation, and teamwork, essential skills for navigating the global business landscape.

To further enrich the experience, students enjoyed a cruise dinner along the Chao Phraya River, where they took in the beauty of Bangkok’s skyline. The visit to Asiatique, a lively riverside market, provided an opportunity to experience the cultural and social pulse of Bangkok in a fun and engaging way.

The program concluded with project presentations, where students showcased the knowledge and insights they gained throughout their immersion experience. During a closing ceremony, participants received Certificates of Completion as a token of recognition for their dedication and hard work, marking the successful end of a truly transformative journey.
