“We were put through the paces to learn interview etiquettes and how to do well in the group discussions. The Business English classes we had to go through prior summer placement season started were extremely helpful,” says Athimamula Sadhana, PGDM Class of 2017 of Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management who recently joined her SIP with the Marketing team of Empressa. Empressa is known for being a leading agency in the world of Recruitment Solutions.

She has decided to make the most of the SIP opportunity with both hands and gain insight into the functioning of the corporate world.

But she realizes that this exciting opportunity wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of the Placement Team from her institute. Sadhana also talks about the solid preparations that went into making students like her ready for the experience. “We were given a fair idea and had prepared extensively for the kind of questions that are asked in interviews. That’s why when the big day arrived, we were interview ready,” she explains.

However the day was filled with an interesting challenge as the students were given an offbeat topic for the Group Discussion. They had to discuss whether a corrupt and efficient politician is better than an honest and inefficient person. “I remembered an example of a corrupt but efficient leader and took the lead in the GD. But I tried to maintain a balance and said that it was eventually about development of the society,” she says like a seasoned campaigner.

Sadhana remains proud of the fact that when the HR manager from the company announced the results she was the only one who had survived the challenge in her group. Now she plans to carry forward her form and derive the best from her SIP. “I will be working on Lead Generation in the marketing team. It is an important responsibility that I will do my best to deliver on. I think it will be a huge opportunity for me to learn,” she says brimming with positivity.
