December 20, 2019, Hyderabad: The Alumni Association of Vignana Jyothi Institute of
Management (VJIM), Hyderabad, successfully conducted a grand Alumni meet on December 14, 2019, Saturday, at M Banquets, Madhapur.
The event witnessed major participation from batches XIX to XXV – bringing the number to 86 out of a total of 108 attendees. The Alumni meet proved to be an evening of homecoming and celebration, fostering new ties, renewing old bonds, and relieving the magical college years the students experienced at the VJIM campus.
The program commenced with a welcome address by the Alumni relationship manager, Mr. A. Adarsh. The event was then taken over by alumnus Mr. Rahul Gupta – Batch 2006 and alumnus Mr. Shrenik Patel – Batch 2010, who addressed the gathering and shared insights on the functions of the Alumni association, followed by the work done so far.
Progressing into the evening, Mr. B. Ravi Teja of batch XXI took the opportunity of launching an Alumni-specific website – thestudentclub.com – presented more details related to it, as it can be a great networking source. This was followed by a speech from two faculty members – Prof. R. Rama Rao and Asst. Prof. V. Jayashree – who first greeted the students and apprised them the current achievements of the institute, Alumni contributions, and the role of students in the overall development of the college. They also stressed on the need of Alumni to take a step forward for initiatives to help the institute reach greater heights.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. R Rama Rao of VJIM, said, “This Alumni meet marked a
momentous step towards building the bond between the former students and their alma
mater; a great initiative for shaping the future of VJIM. I appreciate and thank all the
students who attended the Alumni meet and made the event memorable for all of us.”
Nostalgia filled the room as the Alumni re-connected with their fellow students and faculty members, and interacted in person, in an era driven by social media where personal touch has lost its importance! To end the evening on a lighter note, a live musical performance was presented by two of the Alumni present at the meet, Mr. Vivek and Mr. Dinesh.
Simultaneously, batch-wise photographs were taken to seize the memories from the event. Followed by a game or two, cultural activities, dinner, and endless lively discussions, the grand Alumni meet ended with great vigor.
VJIM recognizes the importance of this alliance and considers its Alumni very dear. Looking at the gusto among the Alumni, there will be constant efforts from the institute to promote this source for association and partnership on a continued basis.
