Lokesh Kumar Dalai from Odisha arrived at Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad to get a PGDM in Marketing & HR. Once done with his PGDM he was placed with Conduira Online as a Business Development Manager.
His academic background before he opted for PGDM from VJIM, Hyderabad was a BBA in Marketing Specialization. Naturally, a good PGDM in Sales & Marketing was what Lokesh had his eyes on. VJIM happened!
He recalls his interview as a great one where the recruiter was more interested to know about him than his technical knowledge and would more likely be to pass off a casual conversation than a job interview. However, the selection process had 3 rounds comprising of group discussion, a Powerpoint Presentation and the Personal Interview. The areas where he felt he was analysed on were his communication skills with good content and presentation. They were more interested in the soft skills of the candidates. Lokesh was confident of clearing the interview and he has a job at Conduira to show for it.
He notices distinct changes in his life before and after PGDM. Especially when it comes to understanding and analysing things in a better way, modification of communication style depending upon the individual and a deep entrenched belief in his abilities. To serve his time better, he aspires to building trust and believes it can only be done if he is committed to the job by aligning the ethics of the organization. At the end of the day he is happy as he interacts with high-end professionals where he sees potential of developing a trusting network and getting to the inner circle.
Before joining his new job he was an intern at T.I.M.E. Pvt. Ltd., which proved to be more related to the job he has in hand with Conduira. Needless to say, this came as an added advantage for his final placements.
He loves every day of his VJIM journey. Even as he is now about to join the corporate world, he misses college and all of his friends who are now scattered everywhere.
His first call after placement was to his father who was thrilled at his son’s achievement.
As he gears up for his life beyond the college gates, he asked all his juniors to be honest, sincere and focused. He suggests being totally prepared and confident before the interviews.
