December 3, 2019, Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM) recently held its two-day annual sports festival, Kritansh 3.0, backed by Mana Radio. The multisport festival commenced on 21st November and concluded on 22nd November 2019, featuring individual athletes and teams from 10 colleges from across Hyderabad, who competed in Cricket, Chess, Basketball, Throwball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Carrom.
The inaugural ceremony conducted on the first day of Kritansh 3.0 had Dr. Ch. S. Durga Prasad – Director of VJIM, opening the ceremony by wishing each and every participant luck. The Sports fest had more than 400 participants from institutes like SIBM, FABS, Dhruva, Aurora, NICMAR, St. Francis, IPE, CBIT, and SSIM, to name a few.
Day 1 of the event had an inauguration ceremony, followed by a singing performance by the students of VJIM, Hyderabad post which, a short video of Kritansh 2.0 was played to give a glimpse of the past editions as well as what to expect in the future. The day proceeded with indoor and outdoor activities, specially-designed to encourage interaction between students from different colleges, communities, and backgrounds.
“Talent helps in winning games, but teamwork and intelligence help in grabbing championships,” exclaimed a participant of VJIM while describing the spirit of Kritansh 3.0. With strong determination to hit, hustle, and never quit, groups of students of VJIM planned this sports event under the directives of concerned faculty and staff members. While commenting on the experience, the student-leader of Kritansh 3.0, said, “Just like the previous years, version 3.0 too provided a great opportunity for us to bring together sports enthusiasts from across Hyderabad. With this experience, we have all developed confidence in making large-scale decisions, speaking publicly, and leading other groups.”
The institutes who participated in Kritansh 3.0 and won tournaments were NICMAR – Cricket, IPE – Box Cricket, VJIM – Throwball, MLRIT – Volleyball, NICMAR – Basketball, St Francis – Volleyball (Women), NICMAR – Badminton, St Francis – Badminton (Women), VJIM – Chess, FABS – Carroms, and IPE – Table Tennis.
“Sportsmanship is all about encouraging others, regardless of who wins or loses. This spirit was displayed by all the participating teams of different colleges who came together to make this sports festival a grand fiesta. We are proud of the fact that VJIM’s Kritansh has grown year on year to become one of the top-most sports events for students across Hyderabad. We are always excited to welcome new students and faculty members on our campus to advance their skills, academically as well as athletically,” commented Dr. Ch. S. Durga Prasad, Director of VJIM, Hyderabad.
The two-day event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony where participants and winners were lauded with medals, trophies, and certificates. Dr. Ch. S. Durga Prasad bestowed the best-team trophy to the students of IPE college and congratulated other participants for making the event a grand success.
