DaanUtsav is one of the most fulfilling events that students of Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management, Hyderabad participate in, every year. By being part of the DaanUtsav and active members of VJIM’s Social Outreach Club, VJIM students get a chance to give back to the society through various initiatives. Through these events, the future managers are taught to realize the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and their role in larger scheme of things in the world.
Diwali 2017 was one such day when VJIM PGDM students stepped out to make little kids’ Diwali special. The JMJ Sneha Sadan, Miyapur is home to a number of underprivileged, orphan children. The VJIM-ites packed sweets and food with them, decorated the orphanage, burst crackers with the kids, lit candles and celebrated the birthday of a child to make November 19, 2017 extraordinarily special for the ones who have been long deprived from the joy of the world.
“By the end of the evening, the kids were beaming with smiles and happiness and it couldn’t have been a more joyous feeling than this,” says Chirravuri Sirisha, PGDM, VJIM Hyderabad who had dedicated her Diwali to the initiative.
