G Vinitha Reddy credits VJIM, Hyderabad and its placement cell for bringing a large number of companies to campus for summer internship placements. Amongst them were several names from the world of Finance, a stream she remains interested in. “We were told about the different companies and what they could offer us. I found the job description for the position at Birla SunLife Insurance Ltd interesting, which is why I decided to apply for the company,” she says.

And thanks to her elaborate preparations and support of her institute, Vinitha bagged the SIP with the prestigious company. She sheds light on her preparation for the crucial interview when she says, “I did my research about the company to know more about its policies. The Job Description also gave me an idea of what they were lookin for. I tried to cater my preparations accordingly to give the interview my best shot.”

Vinitha definitely managed to do that by staying confident throughout the interview process and giving convincing replies to the interviewer. She reveals her secret for cracking the interview, “The Managing Partnner who was taking the interview made it clear that the company expects 1 client of 1 lakh corpus for a year. They were looking for interns who would be able to handle this target. That was the requirement for the position and I said confidently that I could do it.”

Now that she has started on her SIP her goal is to manage this target and deliver on the promise she showed in the interview. Vinitha says that she feels up to the task. “Through several assignments and tasks we have been trained to live up to the challenges and complete them on time. I will definitely do that during my SIP. In the process I will learn more about functioning of the corporate world and gain from the experience,” she states.
