Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad will be hosting its 9th National Conference on the theme “Make in India: The Economic Imperative”, and would be held on 6th and 7th of January 2016. Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has launched the “Make in India” campaign to transform India into a manufacturing leader. Yet the vision, while laudable, is not easy to achieve. The connotation of “Make in India does suggest the differentiation with previously used connotation of “Made in India”, the “Make” implies the process to be carried out in India while opening doors for outsiders, whereas “Make” implies anything that is produced in and by India.
The real question is will “Make in India” campaign fuel the spirit of Innovation in India? The spirit of innovation could be seen in the Conference and will encourage the audience to think about Innovation, think about “Make in India” and think about India, hence fulfilling the objectives of the conference to deliberate on the strategies to promote Make in India, to facilitate interaction among various stakeholders of the campaign and to recommend strategies for its implementation.
Make in India is the need of the hour for Indian economy hence is rightly said to be the Economic Imperative. India, in its competitive global environment, is starting from a position that is far from advantageous.
The theme of the conference would be ease of doing business, skilling India, opportunities for women, zero defect, MSME’s and global competitiveness, make in India and sell in India, start-up in India and its opportunities among others. In the conference there would be a platform for exchange of views and opinions among leaders of industry, venture capitalists and policy makers.
The conference would encourage the budding entrepreneurs and the participants to present their paper to the conference committee, in which the esteemed patrons are Sri. B. Sarat Gopal, Ceneral Secretary, Vignana Jyothi Society, the Chair is Dr. Kamal Ghosh Ray, Director VJIM and Co- Chair is Dr. Durga Prasad, Dean VJIM. Many eminent speakers from industry and reputed academicians have given their consent to address the conference hence the challenges associated with the campaign will be deliberated over the two days.
