What is the total programme fee for regular PGDM (Dual) & PGDM (General)?

I have worked in my family owned business for the past three years – will this experience be considered?

If this experience is full-time and if you can support this with relevant documents in your application, you can apply. The quality and relevance of your experience in your business will be critical. You will still have to furnish recommendations. Recommendations from your father, friends and family will not be accepted. You should furnish recommendation from people with whom you have a strictly professional interaction like your clients, vendors etc.

What test scores are accepted by VJIM for admission to PGDM (Dual), PGDM (General) ?

VJIM would accept good scores of CAT / XAT / MAT/ CMAT/ ATMA/ GMAT.

Will part-time work experience be considered?

Work experience should be full-time. Part-time work experience will not be considered.

What are the new offerings from VJIM?

VJIM proposes to launch new sectoral specializations in Pharma, Banking & Financial Services and Business Analytics.

Does VJIM guarantee placements? What are the placements for graduates of PGDM likely to be?

No, VJIM does not guarantee placements. However, every effort is made by the Training and Placements Office to assist students in finding and securing their ideal career opportunities.

What is VJIM's intake for admissions?

VJIM currently has an intake of 240 seats. The break up is as follows:

  1. PGDM (Dual) – 180 Seats
  2. PGDM (General) – 60 Seats

When do the Placements start?

The Placement season begins during the initial phase of the second year of the PGDM programme.

Are these programmes approved by AICTE?

All the PGDM programmes are approved by AICTE.

Is there a summer internship programme at VJIM?

Yes, the Summer Internship Programme is an important aspect of Management Education at VJIM.

What Post-Graduate programmes does VJIM offer?

VJIM offers 2 year full-time regular PGDM programmes:

  1. PGDM (Dual)
  2. PGDM (General)

When can one apply for an educational loan?

Once the PI process has been successfully completed, we will give offer letter to the candidate”. With this Offer Letter, a student can apply to any National or Private Bank.

I fulfil the eligibility criteria but cannot afford the full tuition fee.

Financial Aid is provided to students in the form of tuition waivers, scholarships and loans. The details of scholarships availed to students are available on our website. And Student loans are available through leading National and Private Banks.

How much time do I have to accept or decline an admission offer?

VJIM should receive your acceptance within 7 working days from the date of the offer along with the registration fee.

Is the Registration fee in addition to the academic fee?

No. The Registration fee is part of the academic fees.

How do I accept the offer of admission?

You may accept the offer made by remitting a registration fee of Rs.50,000/- as instructed in the offer letter received by you.

Can I pay the tuition fees in instalments?

Tuition fees can be paid in two installments.

Do you have a Personal Interview as part of the admission criteria?

As a part of the admission process, all the candidates will be interviewed.

How to make payment through DD?

Please obtain DD favoring “VignanaJyothi Institute of Management” payable at Hyderabad from any Nationalized or Private bank.

What is VJIM's Placement record?

VJIM students had 100% placement record consistently for the last several years. (More details of past 3 years are available in “Placements” page of our website).

Can a graduate of PGDM at VJIM pursue PhD programme in India or abroad?

Of course they can. The 2 year PGDM of VJIM is recognized by Association of Indian Universities(AIU) as equivalent to 2 year full-time Masters Degree (MBA) and hence PGDM students of VJIM could pursue PhD in India or abroad.

Does VJIM arrange any Educational loan for students?

All banks in India sanction Educational Loans to students liberally based on our offer letters. Selected students can directly approach any of the Nationalized/Pvt. Sector Banks for Educational loan. HDFC Credila is associated with VJIM for providing educational loans.

Does VJIM have any reserved category of seats or quotas for admission?

No. VJIM has only the merit channel, without any quotas or reservations.

Does VJIM offer specialization in Finance/ Marketing/ HR/ Operations?

Yes, VJIM offers specialization in all the above functional areas subject to certain requisites but the option in the 2nd year lies with the student who is offered a basket of electives to choose from.

Can the CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA/CMAT requirement be waived under exceptional circumstances?

No, The test scores cannot be waived under any circumstances.

Does it mean that CAT/XAT/GMAT cut-off scores would be different for each candidate?

Yes, In such a system it would be different because a candidate with a good Professional degree and considerable work-experience may stand a better chance of getting selected. However, it is compulsory for every candidate to have the minimum cut-off percentile in CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA/CMAT is 50%

Does VJIM select only by cut-off scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT of candidates for second stage (PI)?

No, For Admissions 2016, VJIM intends not to short list students for PI. All the applicants would be given a fair chance to appear for the Personal Interview and a due weightage would be given for academic record, CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA/CMAT scores, professional qualifications, work experience, and performance in the personal interview.

Should all candidates screened for the second stage of the Admissions process (PI) travel to Hyderabad to attend interviews?

No, For Admissions 2016, VJIM would hold PI at different centers across the country viz ( tentatively list includes: Bhubhaneshwar, New Delhi,Lucknow,Raipur, Nagpur, Trivandrum,Kochi, Jamshedpur, Chennai and across Andra Pradesh in towns like Guntur, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Tirupati, Kurnool, Warangal, Vishakhapatnam, Rajamundry.) We are envisaging to add more centres subject to sufficient number of applications from these places.

Would the hard-copy of Handbook of Information contain a hard-copy of your Application?

No but, upon registration, the prospectus and the application form would be given to the student.

How does one apply to VJIM?

An aspirant can apply to VJIM through hard-copy of Handbook of Information from PI Centers/VJIM Campus/by Post or accesses the soft copy on our website.All applicants have to submit the Application Form either online/in-person. Payments can also be made by means of Demand Draft on any bank or pay in cash or online payment option given in our website.

What is the Application fee/Registration Fee?

The Application fee is Rs.1, 000/- for all the PGDM Programs.

Where can I obtain the prospectus & Application form?


The Prospectus or Handbook or e-brochure of Information for Admissions 2016 can be downloaded from the website (www.vjim.edu.in). Also, they are available at all the PI centers on the scheduled dates and in VJIM, Hyderabad. Upon request, the prospectus would also be sent to the candidate by post after the payment of application fee.
